Top City Attraction

One of the top attraction in the Loop area of Chicago is the Art Institute of Chicago.  If you enjoy Impressionist and Post Impressionist art, the Art Institute has a really nice permanent collection that should not be missed.  Its one of the nice reasons to buy a condominium in the area because having a world class museum in your backyard is always a good thing to have.

If you have always wanted to see a Claude Monet Water Lilies painting then this is your chance but the collection does not stop there.  There are also famous paintings by Renoir and Matisee.

The Art Institute is not just a painting museum, there are other great decorative arts, furniture pieces designed by Frank Lloyd Wright and mummies from ancient Egypt, Greek and Rome.

Selling your condo

It’s doesn’t matter where you live these days.  The real estate market is tough so it is only natural that it is only tougher to sell your condo these days.  Buyers are right now in the driving seat when it comes to buying condos and homes.

So in order to get your condo sold, you have to go the extra bucket.  That means doing extra renovations whether it be major or minor changes.  Painting your unit, fixing any undesirable conditions, changing the carpet or adding hardwood floors.

Upgrading applicances in the kitchen and washer and dryers.  When your condo is within a large building with hundreds of other condos, there are bound to be several units on the market at the same time.  If this is the case, you need to set your unit apart from the other condo up for sale in the same building.

This means, considering hiring a staging company who will rent furniture for you and display your unit in a sellable fashion.  Most buyer can’t visualize the potential of the property.  So if you can display your condo in its best light and demonstrative the value of your unit, you stand a better chance of getting your unit sold.  Talk to your real estate agent if they provide this service or if they know or work with individuals who know how to stage a property for sale.

Sears Tower

The Sears Tower is what draws most people to the Loop.  Once considered the world’s tallest building, standing 110 shores tall and rising 1,454 feet off the ground, it continues to draw visitors to the state.  The building is now called the Willis Tower.    The building holds offices as well as a health club, several restaurants, retail shops and other services.  Although the building does not have condos because there is too much foot traffic for residential residents to handle, it attracts many to live in the adjoining buildings to be near its foot print.

Downtown Chicago

The Loop is affectionately the name for the heart of downtown Chicago.  It got its name from the train tracks that loop around the city center.  Within the skyscrapers and office buildings is the glitzy theater district where all the performing arts, musical, ballets, and theaters are located at.  Its where the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, the Lyric Opera of Chicago, The Goodman Theater and Chicago Cultural Center all call their home.

The Loop has a total population of about 16,300 people with a median income of about $75,000.00.  The area architecture is naturally dominated by skyscrapers and high rises.   The area is also known for its shopping district that competes with the nearby Magnificient Mile.  Along its streets are some of the most beautiful sculptures, made by some of the most famous artist, like Pablo Picasso, Joan Miro, and Henry Moore to name a few.  One can walk the Loop’s streets all day long admiring its beautiful buildings and sculptures alone.

The Loop also houses the governmental buildings for the city of Chicago as well as Cook county.  The United States district court as well as the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago.

Being the center of Chicago, Loop is the area where most of the jobs are located at.  There are also an abundant of condos located in all the surrounding buildings that align its street.  So the Loop condos are readily available and are in a state of fluctuating levels of demand.
